I am 18 and just about to get my first car. I narrowed it down to two cars: a 1993 Volvo 240 and a 1980 Mercedes 300 TD. Both cars are in pretty much mint condition. The Volvo has 97,592 miles on it and the Merc only has 29,145 miles, which is pretty unusual because these car usually go up to 200k miles or more. Anyway, I want to know which car would be a better choice to get.

I have a detached speaker cone on the driver side and the door panel doesn’t look like its sitting flush anyway. The passenger door panel pocket is busted and I have a replacement I want to use. 1990 Volvo 740 GL sedan, blue interior.

I just bought a Volvo S60. The front left turn signal keeps going out, but eventually comes back. Since it seems like it could be more of a wiring issue than a bulb issue, I want to get it looked at by someone other than myself.

I bought my car from the original owner, and she was a single woman who never really used the back seat. Well, it stayed nice until my stepdaughter snuck some food with her into the car and fell asleep. Now I have these ugly stains on my backseat on the passenger side. Any tips as to cleaning a tan cloth upholstery in a Volvo 740? I’m not against any harsh chemicals, or anything like that, so please, all the help I can get would be wonderful!

This might sound really horrible, I know, but there’s a reason for it. I’m 16 and I’ll be getting my license in October, and my family has three cars, a volkswagen, a saab, and a smelly, old, 1995 Volvo 850 GLT. My sister has been driving the heck out of it (she’s 18 and in college now, so she doesn’t need it anymore) So, the volvo is my car when I get my license. My dad is looking into getting a new car around March of 2008. My plan, however, is to accelerate that process by KILLING MY VOLVO. You see, if I can kill my volvo, then my dad will buy a new car quicker and in time for my license test. Any help will be greatly appreciated. And the solution can’t be to drastic. Something like ruining the transmission, or screwing up the ECU. Thanks in advance.
I do have a job and I have $3,500 dollars saved for my new one. Me and my family can afford it no problem, but my dad just wants to wait until it dies on its own. Jeez, don’t be all mad at me..
I don’t get why everyone is attacking me, lol! My dad WANTS to buy a new one.
Yeah, we got the volvo for free so it really has no financial tie to me or my family. So by me breaking it has nothing to do with wasting money or anything like that. The volvo itself is just a burden. And by removing the burden everyone is relieved. There are so many problems with it already, like the brakes, abs, catalytic converter, etc. All that money that would be used to replace those parts would just be wasted if we need to wait until March. So, in that respect, I’m not a “spoiled brat” or a “stupid kid”. I am being a responsible person by realizing the opportunities presented to me and trying to make the best of the situation.
Really? Vandalism to my own property?…That sounds interesting. BTW, I reported you for threatening me. (directed at “owner of a lonely car”

Somebody hit out Volvo on the Driver side in a parking lot, but they were evidently going fast because they caved in the Driver Side doors. Any ideas on what it will cost to fix this?
